A native of Plainfield, Indiana, Richard graduated
from South Putnam High School. He obtained a two year degree in
Building Trades at Putnam County Area Vocational School.
Richard enlisted in the Military, and was honorably discharged from the
United States Army. He worked in the construction business, hands
on, in both sales, and in supervisory areas. Richard credits the
military for his skills and valuable experience, "I feel the skills I obtained in the military, as a job superintendent,
and in construction and sales, gives me the ability to help the home
and business owner in their construction and
maintenance needs." In 1998, Richard took those skills and
experience, relocated to the Indianapolis area, and formed his own
business, Hoosier Carpenter.
He is the proud father of three wonderful children, and enjoys spending
his spare time with them and his wife of 20 years. He enjoys
working with the Construction Mission Program and The Youth Ministries
of his church. He also enjoys sports, comedy entertainment, and music.
